The Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics is seeking motivated PhD students/Doctoral researchers to join our dynamic team in Halle (Saale), Germany. This is a full-time position dedicated to advancing cutting-edge research in the field of microstructure physics. As a doctoral researcher, you will be immersed in a vibrant scientific community, contributing to groundbreaking projects and expanding your academic horizons. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting independent research under the guidance of senior scientists.
  • Designing and executing experiments to explore microstructural phenomena.
  • Analyzing data and interpreting results to contribute to scientific publications.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to integrate findings into broader research contexts.
  • Presenting research findings at conferences and seminars.

Required Profile

We are looking for highly motivated students with a passion for research and a strong academic background. The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent, e.g. 4-year Bachelor’s degree) in Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with experimental techniques and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
